They can also last up to ten times longer, so not only do they save you money on running costs, they also need to be replaced less often.

Televisions waste energy and money when left on standby mode.
Always turn them off at the wall.
Some TV sets consume almost as much on standby as they do when turned on.
When purchasing a new TV think about an ‘Energy Saving Recommended’ TV with integrated digital receiver. There is no need for a separate digital box this way. So its one less device you need to plug in.

If you have satalite or a digital TV receiver always switch it off at the wall when not in use,

If you have a PC in the front room shut it down fully instead of leaving it on standby.
Save energy and money by printing in black and white, you can also save paper by printing double sided if your printer has this facility.
Remember to always switch off your printer when it is not in use.

Multi socket extension leads , mobile phone chargers , USB adapters with power supplies all still consume energy if they are left switched but not connected to an appliance. This is a waste of both energy and your money. Ensure they are switched off at the wall.
