Like most people when you look at you gas bill you probably think what is all this jargon for?
Its mainly there as your supplier needs to inform you precisely what they are billing you for even if like me you find it confusing.
The main things you need to concern yourself with on your gas bill will be the following several elements.

1. Your name and address:
This may seem obvious but it’s amazing how many people pay bills that are not for them.

2. Date:
This is when your bill was issued.

3. Your account number:
This is the utility company use to identify your bill details.

4. Bill breakdown:
This is a quick Summary of your bill.

5. Billing period:
This is the start and end date of the period that the bill covers.

6. Payments:
This is anything you have paid towards the account since the last bill was issued.

7. Balance:
This is what is brought forward from your last bill be it credit or debit.

8. Total charges:
This is the amount payable for this particular billing period.

9. Total payment due:
The calculated total amount that you owe.

10. Meter point reference number:

This is a unique reference number usually situated on the front near the top of the bill.
This number is needed should you wish to swap to a different gas supplier.
